- You need to contact the person who did the papers for you.....if you went straight to the court call them and ask them if your divorce has been finalized. If you went through someone else call them and ask them if they have any updated info on your divorce. My BFF just went through that and she didnt even know that her divorce was final untill she called and they told her yes it was it had already been 3 weeks sense final. So just call and ask good luck
- I believe you should receive a confirmation of your divorce
- That is the Shortest amount of time. That applies from the time you come to terms or agreements and you both agree...then it goes to the six month waiting period before the judge will sign off. Mine took a year and half and I am in California. If you need to find out about your divorce, go back to the courts where you filed and simply ask what the status of your case is.
- It still has to be finalized. It can go MUCH longer than 6 months, just not less. Contact your lawyer or the court to find out where you are with the process. You can request that the divorce be granted even if there is property issues, those can be arranged after wards if you get the okay from the judge.
- CA does require a 6 month waiting period that begins the day of filing. 6 month and 1 day after the filing date the divorce papers will be processed and they will mail you and your spouse a final divorce decree. Once this is received you will be legally divorced.
