What about my fiance had a legal separation agreement with his ex?
I know my fiance just had a legal separation agreement with his ex. So I asked him about it and he show me his legal dissolution agreement with her( his ex). I have no idea about that dissolution document and can we marry? We're engaged.

- You can not marry until he is officially divorced. A separation agreement holds no bearing ending his marriage. I would ask to see an official document from the court system where you live that states he is divorced.
- you can marry after he gets a final divorce decree from the courts.a settlement agreement shows how assets and things are going to be disbursed between them, they are still married until the divorce is finalized and they both have signed the papers.
- Some states have, or used to have, legal separation status, which would be followed by actual divorce proceedings. In my case, I had to wait a year (in Kentucky) before the separation status expired and cleared the way for divorce. You could be in a similar situation. You should ask your fiance about it.
